SEO (search engine optimization) is the art of promoting documents, such as web pages, PDFs or images as high as possible within search results of major search engines.
In simple terms, search engines do resolve following question: How important is a document relating to the search term relative to other documents?
You can improve the importance of your website by...
- creating content related to the keywords,
- using the keywords in your text, preferably within title tags,
- having the keywords in the metadata of your website, such as title and description,
- having the keywords in the URL of your website, and by
- creating internal and external links to your website
Don't try to fool search engines by overpopulating your content with keywords. If you want your visitors to come back, you have to give them a reason to.
SEO isn't a short term measure, but rather a long term investment. By every new piece of content and every new backlink your ranking will improve - step by step.
